I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, as I did & had lots of fun with my friends and family.
Today, I wanted to take some time to discuss the importance of being "Cannabis Wise". The poster attached was done by the Public Health department in Sudbury and it was circulated during our last Action Sudbury Committee meeting. As we know, Cannabis became legal for anyone over 19 in Canada on October 17th, but just because it is legal does not negate from the fact that it still comes with potential risk factors. For example, if you are under 25 it can negatively affect your memory, thinking and attention span. If you are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant it can be passed onto your baby, which is harmful and dangerous. Being under the influence of Cannabis will also inhibit your ability to drive safely by reducing your reaction time and coordination. And did you know if you are caught driving while under the influence of Cannabis you will be charged with impaired driving? Overall, I believe this "Cannabis Wise" poster was very helpful with presenting the facts about the risk factors associated with Cannabis use, which is why I wanted to quickly share it with you all.
