In an effort to reduce the effects of impared driving in Greater Sudbury, Action Sudbury generously donates funds every year towards sponsoring RIDE spot checks in partnership with the Greater Sudbury Police Services.

Supporter of Operation-Lookout

ACTION SUDBURY  is proud to support and be part of OPERATION LOOKOUT, a Canada-wide, year-round public awareness program that encourages the public and businesses to call police if they see an impaired driver. The program provides a strong deterrent to those who would normally drink and drive. More than just the police are looking for such drivers, the whole community is involved. If you see an impaired driver. CALL 911!

DJ Hancock Memorial Park

ACTION SUDBURY is proud to be one of the many contributors to the memorial splash pad and park in honour of DJ Hancock. DJ, who played hockey for the Nickel Capital Wolves, was killed on Aug. 21, 2014 when the vehicle he was driving collided with a vehicle driven by a driver who, it turned out, was impaired. The 18-year-old was killed in the crash. The splash pad was designed as a happy place for families to play and have fun while at the same time remembering DJ's positive spirit.
