Members of the Traffic Management Unit assisted by uniform officers conducted RIDE checks throughout Greater Sudbury on November 26, 2011. This RIDE check was sponsored by our community partner Action Sudbury through a financial donation that resulted in this additional night of RIDE spot checks being funded. A total of 750 vehicles were checked at 2 separate locations within the City of Sudbury. 6 roadside screening tests were performed and 2 drivers were issued 3 day licence suspensions. 1 driver was also found to be impaired and was subsequently issued a 90 day roadside suspension in addition to the Over 80 mg charge. The 3 vehicles involved were also towed and removed from the roadway. In addition 10 Highway Traffic Act charges were also laid for a variety of offences.
The Greater Sudbury Police Service, Action Sudbury and STRIDE (Sudbury Taskforce to Remove Impaired Drivers Everywhere) are proud to support Operation Lookout. |
